A discussion around the use of nondual techniques as mechanisms to create intentional goals, personal transformation and desired futures. Shifting discomfort can only be done when you turn to investigate and face it. Running away, avoiding, projecting with anger or hiding with fear only pushes the emotions back down. So often we don't see clearly that dwelling on the past, or on things that 'should' have happened stop us living the reality of our lives. In doing so we fall into the fantasy of our mindscape and live life in regret or disappointment. A frank discussion around needing to hold a philosophy around what happens to us when we die. Do we need an opinion around this? Does it really keep us soothed and secure, or is it just adding more stress? The good news is that we can survive perfectly fine with no opinions about anything! Some teachers would say you are either awake or asleep, enlightened or not. This can be misleading as there are stages - to me they are more like the dream state: 1. Totally asleep and dreaming, not knowing you are dreaming and identified with your dream like it is real 2. Awake but still in the dream, knowing you are dreaming but still identified with the dream and what is going on, but more relaxed about it, you know its a dream - lucid dreaming. 3. Awake from the dream - the activities and character you played in the dream is gone, only the dreamer remains. Of course this could all be BS!
