Reiki Philosophy
The philosophy of Usui Reiki is based around the belief that we can nurture and replenish ourselves through the balancing of our energy. This replenishment can be self-directed, or via a Reiki practitioner.
Reiki philosophy requires no belief or religious context and does not rely on students to follow any particular path.
Coupled with this foundational philosophy are the Five Usui Principles. These are not so much Reiki principles as Usui's influence on top of the basic Reiki balancing principles. He believed in order to remain balanced, we should cultivate a more healthy mindset alongside our energy healing.

The Five Usui Reiki Principles
The 5 Principles are taught in every Reiki 1 class as a guiding compass in which to point our personal growth. They orient us into a more compassionate place, both in how we nurture ourselves and how we approach others. Many students of Reiki hold these principles close to their hearts and the more we practice, the more they become embodied and part of our daily lives.
