Parul Mehta

Born and brought up in India in an Army household, life was never a straight line. Due to my father’s job, I traveled extensively within India experiencing different cultures, cuisines and meeting new people every two to three years.

This continued on post my education with my joining Singapore Airlines as cabin crew, travelling around the world. My ten year stint with SQ transformed me from a young girl to a mature woman, widening my Trans India exposure to the global arena and getting me to appreciate that the World is One Big Family (Vasudeva Kutumbakam).
Today I am a wife, mother, Reiki Master Teacher and Atma Kriya Yoga practitioner and teacher.

I have been practicing Reiki for many years now and from being skeptical to loving Reiki, I have experienced all. Despite my doubts, post the attainment of Reiki Level one,  I religiously conducted 60 min of self treatment everyday for couple of months. What I realised was that the acute gastric reflux that I had been suffering from for the better part of a year was getting much better with subsequent medical test results being very positive. More than anything, this development convinced me of the benefits of Reiki and there has been no looking back since. Personally for me the most important thing about Reiki is the love and contentment you feel for yourself and others. I never thought that I would one day be a Reiki teacher, but felt it was the right thing to do as I could teach others this unconditional gift of love. I want Reiki to touch and heal the lives of others the way it has touched and healed mine.  Reiki has helped me to make changes in my life for my own higher good.

I have been doing yoga since I was a little girl. Born in the family of yoga enthusiasts, little did I understand the real meaning of yoga. It was all about doing postures and looking cool.

Even when I grew up doing yoga, my understanding of yoga was limited just to the physical till the time I was introduced to Atma Kriya yoga. I fell in love with it. They say “each breath connects you to yourself”. I only understood this once I started practicing Atma Kriya yoga. After practicing it every day for a year, I went to the Ashram in Germany to become an Atma Kriya Yoga Teacher to share the love, joy and peace with others which I experienced. My Master Eminent Yogi Paramhamsa Swami Vishwananda initiated me as a teacher.

Atma Kriya as the name suggests, is focussing on your soul, awareness of it, and the divine within yourself.

Yoga has made me feel that all of us are connected and love for all the fellow beings and Universe. This is my every day mantra Lokah Samastahs Sukhino Bhavantu (may all the living beings be happy and free and may my actions, thoughts further contribute to their happiness and freedom).

Along this journey I started doing Meditation and yoga with kids in International schools and in my condominium on a pro bono basis. it is the sheer love for Meditation and its benefits to children which propels me to do it. Now It is an integral part of my business.

By practicing Reiki and Atma kriya yoga I perceived manifold changes within me mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Mentally I am more peaceful and do not have unrealistic expectations out of myself and others.
Emotionally I manage my emotions better with respect to relationships and outcomes.
Spiritually I am able to accept and love myself the way I am.

Whenever I feel stressed, depressed, anxious, by practicing yoga and reiki  I am able to feel rejuvenated and refreshed. In short, it is now more than just a habit, rather it is an integral part of my life.
